Where it started
Regional Garden Services is a lawn and garden care business working across Launceston, the Tamar Valley and the Northern Midlands. When Lachlan built the site, the business had no meaningful web presence, and the local competition was a mix of directory listings and sites that had not been touched in years.
The job was not to look impressive. It was to be the business a local person finds when they type "gardener Launceston" into their phone, and to make ringing the obvious next step.
What was built
WordPress, built from the ground up by hand rather than assembled from a page builder. The structure was chosen around how people actually search for this kind of work, which is almost always by service plus suburb.
- Service pages written around what the business does, not a generic services list.
- Suburb and service-area coverage, naming every area the van actually travels to. This is the part that did the heavy lifting.
- Community content, including a page on community gardens in Launceston.
- Tap-to-call and a quote form that reaches a phone, not an inbox nobody checks.

The page that outperforms the sales pages
The single best-performing page is Community Gardens Launceston, at 79 clicks from 1,632 impressions. It is useful to people who will never hire a gardener. It also happens to be the strongest signal Google has that this business is genuinely part of Launceston rather than a service area on a map.
That is the lesson worth taking from this project. The content that earns trust is not always the content that asks for the sale. Our local SEO guide covers why that works.
Still maintained
The site was built once and has been looked after since: updates, backups, monitoring, and small changes as the business grows. Most recently we fixed a mobile layout fault where a single portrait photo was forcing the whole page wider than the screen, so every phone visitor had to scroll sideways. That is the kind of thing a monthly care plan exists to catch.
What we would do next
The honest answer is that this site is doing its job, and the next gains are smaller than the first ones were. Reviews are the obvious lever: the business ranks well enough to be found, and the remaining gap is the social proof that turns a search result into a phone call.
That, and continuing to publish content that is actually useful to people in Launceston. It has worked once already.
Commercial disclosure: Regional Garden Services is a client of Pithy, and the site was built and is maintained by Lachlan Rocca. The Search Console figures above are reported as measured.
