Privacy
Privacy policy.
This policy explains what personal information Pithy collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can ask to see or correct it. It follows the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988.
Last updated: 9 September 2026.
Who we are
Pithy is run by Lachlan Rocca, PO Box 101, Launceston, Tasmania. ABN 60 297 180 665. In this policy, "we" and "us" means Pithy. You can contact us at hello@pithy.com.au or 0432 177 130.
The short version
We collect only what we need to reply to you and do the work you ask for. We do not sell your details. We do not run a marketing list from our contact form. Some of the services we use are overseas, so your information may be handled outside Australia — that is set out below.
What we collect
- Your contact details: name, phone number and email address.
- Your business details: business name, ABN, address, services, opening hours and the content and photos you send us.
- Enquiry and booking details: what you tell us when you call, email or book a time through our booking page.
- Form metadata: when you send the contact form we record the IP address and browser type alongside your message, so we can filter spam and abuse.
- Client information: if you become a client, the access details and content needed to build and run your site, and — on the Grow plan — the customer contact details you give us so we can send review requests on your behalf.
We do not collect sensitive information such as health, racial or religious information, and we do not ask for passwords by email.
Why we collect it and how we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote.
- To plan, build and launch your website.
- To run your care plan: hosting, backups, updates, monitoring, reports and small changes.
- On Grow, to send review requests to your customers by SMS or email, and to manage your Google Business Profile.
- To keep our own records, including invoices and tax records.
We use your information for these purposes only, unless you agree otherwise or the law requires it.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. The fonts, styles and scripts are all served from our own server, so your browser makes no request to a third-party font or analytics service. The only outside services a visitor may reach are Cloudflare, which serves and protects the site, and Cal.com, if you open the booking page — both are listed below.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only as much as they need:
- Cloudflare — website security and content delivery.
- Cal.com — appointment booking.
- Mailgun — sending and delivering email.
- Telnyx — sending SMS messages.
We may also share information with our professional advisers (such as our accountant) where needed, or where we are required to by law. Our website hosting is on Australian infrastructure, so the site itself is served from Australia.
Overseas recipients
Some of the providers above are based outside Australia. By using our website and services, your information may be disclosed to and processed in the following countries:
- Cloudflare — United States.
- Cal.com — United States.
- Mailgun — United States.
- Telnyx — United States.
These providers may use sub-processors in other countries. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in a way that is consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. We cannot control every act of an overseas recipient, but we choose established providers with published privacy commitments and we only send what the service needs.
If you become a client and we handle your customers' data
On the Grow plan we send review requests to your customers on your behalf, using the contact details you give us. In that situation you are responsible for making sure you have the right to contact those customers and that they expect to hear from your business. We only use their details to send the message you have asked us to send. We do not add them to our own marketing lists, and we do not use them for anyone else.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become work: kept while we deal with you, then removed within 12 months.
- Client records, invoices and tax records: kept for up to seven years, as required by Australian tax law.
- Customer contact details used for review requests: kept only while you are on Grow and we need them, then removed or returned to you.
Security
We use reputable providers, keep software updated, and restrict access to the people who need it — which, for now, is one person. No system is perfect, but if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email hello@pithy.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a simple request. If we cannot give you access or cannot agree the information is wrong, we will explain why in writing, and you can ask us to attach a note to the record.
How to complain
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, tell us first at hello@pithy.com.au or on 0432 177 130. We will look into it and reply within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of the page. If the change is significant and you are a client, we will tell you directly.
